Gorgeous Stationary

There are way too many possibilities when it comes to picking wedding stationary. I always get option overload when I look at invitation samples - I can never pick just one! Here is a great stationary set I found on SMP. I love the soft sea foam color and the gorgeous town hall door matches perfectly! Cake Pom Toppers

I'm always looking for creative, fun ideas for food presentation and the wedding cake is not an exception. It is one of the main focal points of the reception and the star of plenty of photos taken over the course of the evening. Many brides use paper or floral poms to decorate the ceremony or reception space, and here's a way to incorporate poms into your cake! I love how the colors pop against the white cake and stand.

DlY Roses

I'm not sure I could do all paper flowers for my wedding, but this tutorial makes it look so easy and realistic that I might have to try it. It may be a way to cut down on the floral costs - by using these in some of the more inconspicuous areas. See the full tutorial here. 

Yummy Peach Dessert

I hadn't heard of a crostata (also known as a galette) until just recently and I tried making this peach crostata last weekend. I am the furthest thing from a good cook, but this dessert was so easy to make and my boyfriend and I loved it. And if you don't like peaches, you can substitue them with other fruits. It really tastes just like a pie, but is so much easier and we made one small enough just to serve the two of us. This could be a great dessert to serve at a fall or backyard reception. Ranch Reception Inspiration

I try to focus on beautiful things close to home, but I found this reception on The Wedding Chicks and couldn't keep it to myself. The details and personal touches they put into this wedding are endless and perfect. I love the outdoor cinema for the kids and the gourmet s'mores bar is to die for. There were deep purple lavender bouquets everywhere and the bride and groom gave their guests handwritten notes and lavender seed packets as escort cards. I'm sure the guests won't forget this party!

I hate to admit that I was watching Princess Diaries 2, but I heard this song and had to pass it along. Norah Jones sings the version on the movie soundtrack, but the song was originally done by Elvis Presley. Both are equally awesome and could be used at your wedding or reception. Take a listen!

I can't wait for the weekend! Not only do I get to see Taylor Swift with some of my favorite people on Saturday night, but its the Perfect Wedding Guide Fall Bridal Show on Sunday! Bridal Bouquet

I was part of the recent KC Bridal Show at the Overland Park Convention Center and we asked Rosemary of Final Touch Studios to create a centerpiece for our booth. Long story short, for every person that stopped by our booth to ask about the venue, we had another person ask who made our flower arrangement! She did a great job and I wanted to share some of her work!

Jo Ellen of Omaha takes the cake!

I had the privilege of accompanying one of my best friends at The Omaha Bridal Show this weekend. Although we were disappointed she didn't win the $2000 wedding gown (Yes, they gave one lucky bride $2,000 towards her wedding dress!), I was pleasantly surprised when I grabbed a piece of Jo Ellen's french vanilla cake. We've all had our share of bad wedding cake, and I had convinced myself that I really didn't care much for cake. That all changed on Sunday.
